The first scientist in India to set up the Chromatin Biology Laborartory and a recipient of the  prestitious civilian honour, Padama Shri in 2010, Prof. M.R. Satyanarayana Rao is the President of  Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR), Bangalore. He has been conferred this award in the Science and Technology category.
